Seeking the lost

Nothing interests me more than seeking the lost. I truly love to set out on a given day, led by His Spirit to those He is seeking after. What a joy to find them. There is nothing like divine appointments made by God. It’s awesome to see Him work!

Christ came to “seek and to save that which was lost” (Lk.19:10).

I believe we all have a part in the “seeking” aspect of what God is doing today. We all know that He does the “saving” part. But we are His hands and feet, are we not? He should be moving and working through us by His Spirit. However, I don’t believe He forces himself upon us. It’s a choice. He does have plenty of others that are willing, the world over, if we don’t.

Are you seeking the lost? Is it your priority? Are you concerned about them? Do you care?

When Christ, “saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them,” Why? “because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd” (Matt.9:36).
Are we moved with compassion when we see the lost? Or are we too busy to see them? Do we go about our day with blinders on? Peddle to the metal?

“The harvest is plentiful”. Everywhere we look there is a harvest. Wherever there are people, there is a harvest. God is harvesting whether we are a part of it or not. But what is the problem?…… “but the labourers are few” Why? Let us answer this ourselves. We know the answer, don’t we.

“Pray to the Lord of the harvest, that he will send out labourers (workers) into his harvest”

Are you a worker sent out into his harvest?

Let us seek the lost while there is still time, and it’s still day !
“Night is coming, when no one can work”
Amen

    Amen!!
    So many people are hurting-confused-decived-wounded-lost.
Yes!! Continue to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers!!

We are to let our light shine. Jesus said “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house” (Matthew 5:13,14)

Could it be that the world has pushed us into its mold? The world tells us to “stay in the four walls that you call the church.”, We must make the choice to obey the great commission by going into all the world and preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.

One day we will all stand before God on Judgment Day and we will either be covered in the blood of the Lamb or we will be covered in the blood of the wicked that we failed to warn (Ezekiel 33:7-9). Just as the blood of Abel cried out to God for justice, the blood of the wicked is crying out for justice because we have not shared the Word of God with them.

    Lets all do our part.

    God bless!

    Yes Brother!
    You are so right!

Your comment, “Could it be that the world has pushed us into it’s mold?” Sad to say, I believe that remains one of the major problems with the church. The “four walls” are the barrier that keeps the church from getting out to the world. Once inside, it’s a “me and my” compound.

The hope is that it will change in the coming days. Yes Lord, bring it on. May the walls come crashing down, so your people will climb over the rubble and escape out into the world to seek the lost.

    Thanks for you comment,
    Be enriched in God today,
    Richard

  5. Pastor Chris Says:

May this phrase, or “friend of sinners” be on my tombstone.

This is hard for pastors — so much of our time is spent dealing with sheep, instead of the lost sheep. Dealing with administration, rather than people.

It’s time to get out and reconnect with those who are “lost.”
