Watching the power of God transform

God has been doing some awesome transformations out on the streets.
Peoples lives are being changed by God, through His Son Jesus Christ. God is alive, right here in America! Right now in the year 2007.

Yesterday, a young man come over as we were sharing The Gospel. My brother James (a brother in our Lord that I minister with) asked him if he had a relationship with Jesus. He said he was brought up Catholic.

At first he didn’t reject listening about Christ. After about 10 minutes, he started to try and refute The Gospel and God etc. James kept sharing with him and as time moved on, The Holy Spirit began to speak and draw him. He began to listen more, to agree more. A transformation was taking place, a little at a time. At the end, James asked if we could pray with him. He said yes! Now be reminded, that all his friends from school were right in the area were he was standing.

Just as we were praying, a fight broke out, and I noticed he was starting to get distracted. James quickly said to him, “don’t worry about that, we are dealing with something far more important than that”.

He prayed for forgiveness of sins, asked Jesus Christ to be Lord of his life, and to be his Saviour. Wow! The power of God’s Spirit upon a human heart! To see the before and after!

Just a few minutes before he was taking about things like, “how can there be a God, because of this and that going on” “I can’t see God so why should I believe in him”.

God is in the transformation business, and it’s powerful!
Praise Him!

What is reaching out? What is evangelism? Is this conversion? Is this the transforming work of Jesus in a person’s life?

To pray with a stranger for salvation is easy…the test comes when the convert grows in knowledge and relationship in the Lord Jesus Christ.

How long will his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ last? Is there a follow through of this new convert? Will his peers laugh or mock at him? Is there anyone to help him when this happens? Like new-born babes, a lot of work needed…

Praise the Lord for His amazing transforming power and saving grace!!! May the Holy Spirit and the Word of God take firm root in this young man’s heart.

    leewong,
I have heard many comments like this before. They are legitimate ones. We are doing follow up, and God is opening up many relationships.
Pray that The Lord will send laborers into the harvest. There is much to be done out there. Some plant, some water etc.
May we be doing what He has called us to.
    Grace to you,
    Richard

    Scotti and Marie,
Yes, praise God! Take root, take root!
    So be it, Lord.
    Grace to you both,
    Richard

    Richard,
The angels rejoice every time a soul comes to the Lord.
I thank God for the gift of evangelism, which He has given you.

    Lee, I agree.
Perhaps you are called to that mission, to the work of building up together the body of Christ.

Do you currently function in the work?
Are you currently in fellowship with a local body?

We all have our place in His divine scheme.

May we all discover our purpose and place!

    Lord, show us!!!

    Amen to one and all!

Lord Jesus, show us the way, that we all may do our part and work together as one, so none who come to the Saviour would fall away and be lost.
He came and brought me home when I strayed far away, for He is ever faithful and true, but how I wish someone had been there as a newborn babe in Christ! Still, His Spirit drew me back and brought this lost sheep home.

So friends, pray for us that we would work together as one. Just as Richard is an evangelist, so my heart is to teach and equip believers… to see them come into a deep intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, growing into the person they were created to be, with the fullness of His life manifest in and though theirs. For the honor and glory of the the King and for the Kingdom!
Lord Jesus, send forth laborers into the harvest! Indeed it is ripe and ready to be brought in but the laborers are so few…

    Blessings to all,

    Susan
