Hard but true

“There is a judgment coming! People have their reckoning days, and God will at last have His. The trumpet shall sound. The dead shall be raised incorruptible. The living shall be changed. All, of every name, nation, people and tongue, shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ. The books shall be opened, and the evidence brought forth. Our true character will come out before the world. There will be no concealment, no evasion, no false coloring. Every one shall give account of themselves to God, and all shall be judged according to their works. The wicked shall go away into everlasting fire, and the righteous into life eternal. These are dreadful truths! But they are truths, and ought to be told.”

    Hi Richard, missed this one……
I am with you all the way on this one…… Except for two words…. “everlasting fire”. The definition of God is LOVE…. This false concept is promoted to distort our concept of a merciful loving God. Satan would us have think that God would inflict eternal punishment – thus people would come to God out of fear instead of love. How could heaven possibly be a happy place if we knew that some of our friends and loved ones are suffering in a constantly burning hell? How could we love a god that would allow that to go on and promote eternal joy and happiness in heaven at the same time? I for one could not bear it. The word “everlasting” as used in God’s Word literally means to be “eternally gone”.

Jude 1:7 KJV 7Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (There is no fire there today)

    2 Peter 2:6 KJV 6And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

Malachi 4:1-3 (NKJV) 1 “For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the LORD of hosts, “ That will leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. 3 You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,” Says the LORD of hosts.

This is a very popular misconception of our loving God.

Well Stella, understanding God’s love on his terms and ways are far above our understanding. We understand His love in our human understanding. His word gives us some understanding as to how His love works, when we combine the old and the new testaments. Bless you today!

  3. Stella Says:

    Isaiah 40:28
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

Yes, God’s ways truly are far beyond our understanding. That being said – there are many things God makes very clear in His Word. and thus, we are instructed to…..

    2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The one issue in itself of a fire without end with souls suffering is without biblical foundations, and is a common misinterpretation by many believers.. God gives us a clear picture of the battle of Armageddon and the consuming fire which follows. At the end of that, satan, his demons and those who rejected the Living God, will be consumed and become ashes under our feet. That same fire which is all consuming also purifies the new earth for us to inhabit in its original form. To misinterpret a biblical truth to the extent that it distorts the true character of God is a satanic illusion and will ultimately lead to the distortion of more biblical truths that are written plainly for our edification and ultimate salvation.

Although God is LOVE – He will not be mocked. His Word is just and true and He will glady give wisdom to those who ask. It is a copout to chalk it all up to….. “He is beyond our understanding.”

God bless us all as we continue to pursue what God has given us to grow closer to Him and block satan’s attempts to destory the character of God in men’s hearts.

    Stella,
I love you as my sister in the Lord. I disagree with you. I don’t have time to explain why. I need to go out into the harvest today. Lord willing, I will write later. Blessings to you!

    Stella,
The subject of “God’s love” is a vast one indeed. We as humans tend to view it and understand it, in human terms. Although, we do know that “God is love” and that is central in scripture, it should not be viewed independently from his other attributes. If we take the Bible as a whole, then we can see that His attributes are more than just “love” and that they can be found from front to back. We must remember that his love is in unity with his justice and holiness. These two subjects are taught very little in our contemporary churches today. In times past, they were.
God’s love is not sentimentality, like most humans. Instead, it is a holy love and a just love.
As far as “not being able to fathom our friends and family constantly burning in hell”. There again, you are thinking in human terms. God, Heaven and Hell are way beyond our imagination, and that’s not a “cop out”. We all “see through a glass dimly” while here on earth.
Well, gotta go. Lord willing, I would like to address your one definition of “everlasting”
Let us not divide, but love : )
