We must try with God’s help to understand the condition of those who are lost. When we begin to see people in light of eternity it will help us with our priorities while here on earth.
Mankind (those who are unregenerate) is spiritually dead. We must see them as such. Dead men and women. They are dead because of disobedience and sins. They follow the world’s evil (sinful) ways. They obey the ruler, the prince of the power of the air (Satan). His spirit controls them.
They live according to their own natural desires(the lust of the flesh). They do whatever their body and mind wants to do. In this natural (fleshly) state, they are destined to suffer God’s wrath. (taken from Eph.2:1-3) Does this move us? Do we care? Do we love our neighbor as ourselves?
We should not be surprised in the least, when we see and hear all the sinful stuff that takes place around us. Sinners sin that’s what they do. Don’t try and change their sinful ways of living. First things first, they must be born of the Spirit of God in order to change. Politics are not the answer to our world problems. The heart of man must be changed in order for society to change.
If God’s spirit is ruling in our lives then we will be concerned with the lost. If we are not, then we should question our condition before God. Am I serving myself while here on earth? Am I living for me? Where do I get my gratification?
If we can begin to understand the condition of the lost and the consequences they will suffer in the end (God’s wrath), it should move us out of our comfort zone and cause us to reach out and touch someone for God today. If you or I did not speak with someone about their condition before God today, then I would question the value of that day. Who did I live for today?
As I have said many times, we are not saved to live a selfish life here on this earth. It is not the reason that you or I were saved. We were not put here to cater to our own selfish desires. We have a purpose for which God saved us. It has to do with souls (people) that God loves and is trying to save through you. In a given day He places people in your path for a reason. It is not just for “feel good” reasons.
We will be held accountable on that Day for the gift of life that He has given us and what we did with it. What did we do with the gifts that he gave us? Did we use them for Him and his Kingdom?
We will be judged by our life here on this earth (period).

Great question. Why do we keep quiet when we have the “Pearl of Great Price” to share with a poverty stricken world.

You make some very good points.
We also need to realize that we are called to be conformed to the image of Jesus, and to walk in His ways. It goes way beyond witnessing.
Let’s also understand that most “conversions” are weak or false because we’re not sharing the genuine gospel, through which people come to see and know that their life is ending, and they are beginning a NEW one, in Christ, and they no longer belong to themselves. Today’s “gospel” is all about US.
The fact is, practically everything that’s done and believed in “Church” as we’ve all know it, is far off-target.

Yes, but let us not forget that after the being conformed to His image (which is a life long process) and walking in His ways, we are to do our part in reaching the lost for Christ.
I am well aware of the problems out there as far as the gospel goes, but again we personally have a job to do for Him.
It time to get our focus off the others and what is not right, and get busy. As you well know, we don’t have to go far.

Your piece is a reminder to all believers of the Gospel and again brought to mind what Leonard Ravenhill wrote in Why Revival Tarries (p.32):
“Charlie Peace was a criminal. Laws of God or man curbed him not. Finally the law caught up with him, and he was condemned to death. On the fatal morning in Armley Jail, Leeds, England, he was taken on the death-walk. Before him went the prison chaplain, routinely and sleepily reading some Bible verses. The criminal touched the preacher and asked what he was reading. “The Consolations of Religion,” was the replay. Charlie Peace was shocked at the way he professionally read about hell. Could a man be so unmoved under the very shadow of the scaffold as to lead a fellow-human there and yet, dry-eyed, read of a pit that has no bottom into which this fellow must fall? Could this preacher believe the words that there is an eternal fire that never consumes its victims, and yet slide over the phrase with a tremor? Is a man human at all who can say with no tears, “You will be eternally dying and yet never know the relief that death brings”? All this was too much for Charlie Peace. So he preached. Listen to his on-the-eve-of-hell sermon:
“Sir,” addressing the preacher, “if I believed what you and the church of God say that you believe, even if England were covered with broken glass from coast to coast, I would walk over it, if need be, on hands and knees and think it worthwhile living, just to save one soul from an eternal hell like that!”
